I am Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in Australia - with a background in children’s youth and family ministry. I currently serve in ministry at Indooroopilly Uniting Church, Brisbane, Australia. I am married to Dale who for many years has shared in ministry with me, especially with music, children and young adults. We have three boys - Joel, Jeremy and Nathan - who all share our love of music. For some years I have served as a member of the Uniting Church in Australia’s National Working Group on Worship.
songwrite2018 is the third national UCA gathering for writers of songs for Christian community worship. Special guest: Tanya Riches.
songwrite is an opportunity to write new songs for worship. Whether you are a first-time songwriter or have written some songs, you will have creative space, people to listen and learn from, and the opportunity to score and record your songs.

Tanya Riches of Sydney will be the keynote presenter at Songwrite 2018. If you’ve ever sung the song, “Jesus, what a beautiful name,” then you have already encountered her music – although there is much more to Tanya and her music than that: worship leader, song-writer, scholar and consultant.
Malcolm is an ordained minister within the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. He has toured as a fulltime musician and songwriting continues to be a big part of his life. He currently works for the Knox Centre of Ministry and Leadership as the Worship, Music and Arts Enabler, working alongside parishes and creative people to invigorate worship around NZ.
He has released 3 albums which include songs of congregational worship; One Voice in 2008, The Ministry of the Exterior in 2010 and Into the Deep in 2012. He is currently working on an album of ‘story songs’ which will be out in late 2014.
Malcolm also heads up the One Voice Project which is a hub for creative people within the church to use their gifts and collaborate on projects. Recently they have produced a compilation album of worship music entitled, ‘Songs for the Road’ featuring songs from all over NZ.
